Approaching the 174th Year!
July of 2026 marks the 174th Great Jones County Fair—and while so much has evolved, the heart of it all remains the same. 💫Â
What started as neighbors gathering with picnic baskets, prize produce, and their best livestock has grown into one of Eastern Iowa’s most anticipated summer traditions. From wagon wheels to train tracks to packed parking lots, each generation has found its own way to the fairgrounds—but the reason they come hasn’t changed.Â
At its core, the Great Jones County Fair is still rooted in agriculture, powered by 4-H, and built on the values of hard work, community, and pride in where we come from. It’s where traditions are passed down, where first-time exhibitors become lifelong participants, and where memories are made year after year.Â
Today, the Fair blends that rich history with a modern energy that draws crowds from far beyond Jones County. Big-name entertainment lights up the stage. The Midway buzzes with excitement. The grandstands roar with racing, concerts, and crowd-favorite events. And everywhere you turn, there’s something happening—something that brings people together.Â
Behind it all is the same thing that’s always made this fair special: the people. An incredible network of volunteers, families, and supporters who continue to show up, year after year, to carry this tradition forward.Â
It’s more than an event. It’s a feeling.Â
A tradition.Â
A soundtrack of summer.Â
And once you’ve experienced it, you understand why so many call it…Â
The Five Best Days of Summer.Â
